Realme Watch S has recently been launched in Pakistan. We currently do not know when this watch will be launched in other South Asian countries. But, the recent launch in Pakistan should excite Nepalese fans as well.
Let’s look at some of the features of this watch.
Design And Display
The watch features a 1.3-inch circular AMOLED display having 360X360 pixels resolution. According to the makers, the circular display has 157% more display area compared to the square display. The display in this watch comes layered with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The watch automatically adjusts the display’s brightness based on the lighting condition of the surroundings as a photosensitive sensor is present in the watch. Aluminum alloy has been used in the circular frame of the watch. The real panel of the watch houses sensor arrays and is made out of plastic. The straps of the watch are made up of liquid silicone and come in four different colors: Blue, Orange, Green, and Black.
The watch will use a self-developed OS instead of Google’s WearOS. The watch features a PPG sensor that monitors your real-time heart rate. This watch also keeps a regular track of heart rate and gives you a detailed report. The watch can also measure the oxygen levels in your body using the SpO2 blood oxygen monitor that is present in the watch. When kept in a sports mode this watch keeps track of important user details. There are 16 different sports modes in the watch. Rowing Machine and Stationary bike are the two new sports modes added in the watch alongside other sports modes like running, walking, cycling, yoga, e.t.c. The watch can be paired with the Realme link app. This app allows you to take a look at the visual representations of all the health information recorded by the watch including the no. of steps taken. But, the health information gained from this app is not recommended to be used for diagnosis or treatment of a health condition. The smartphones running on Android 5.0 or later can pair with the watch using the Realme link app. When connected to your smartphone over Bluetooth 5.0, this watch will support smart notifications. The smartphones running on Android 5.0 can connect to the watch using the Realme link app. Music playback and camera can also be controlled using this watch when connected to a smartphone. Call rejection can also be handled using this watch. The watch also has features like sleep monitoring, weather forecast, shake adjustment, find my phone, drinking reminder, weather forecast, no disturb mode, and meditation mode.
The watch is set to feature over 100 watch faces which are significantly more compared to 12 watch faces in Realme’s previous watch. This means you can use one watch face every single day for 3 months without repeating any of the watch faces. The watch has an IP68 rating and it can handle being immersed in 1.5 meters of dust or water. But, you should not take this watch to the shower or the swimming pool. The watch has a 390 mAH battery. The Realme company claims that the battery can last up to 15 days. The watch can be charged from 0% to 100% within two hours. The watch has a magnetic charging base. You’ll get a POGO pin charger along with the watch when you buy it. The watch is expected to cost around Rs 12,000 in Nepal when it launches here.
