Yesterday, an online event was hosted by Realme to announce the arrival of Realme GT in the global market. The company also announced the TechLife brand’s first product, Realme TechLife Robot Vacuum. Realme further went ahead and teased two of its upcoming products – the Realme Book and Realme Pad.
Only a few details about the two devices were disclosed except that a prototype of the notebook was shown on stage and was told that it will be designed with Realme fans in mind.
We can trace the rumors about the Realme laptop back from Jan 2021. Indian Tipster Mukul Sharma suggested that it could launch sometime in June. However, there was no concrete proof about the existence of the Realme Book until Madhav Seth (CEO of Realme India and Europe) teased the Realme Book via his Twitter handle.
During the GT launch event, the company not only confirmed the Realme Book moniker but presented a prototype of the notebook on the stage.
Unfortunately, it is still in the prototyping phase. However, You could help to give it the final shape. How? Well, Realme has declared the “Realme Book Co-Creation Programme”, under which the company is taking ideas from its fans to give its first laptop the final shape. The main idea is to build the best possible Realme laptop for Realme fans. You can participate in the program via this link.
Previously, Realme also organized a survey about users’ choice of laptops on its official forum in India. In the survey, people were requested to mention what features they want or don’t want in their laptop, their spending habits, and their primary usage.
The Realme Book is expected to be a heavily customized laptop. It’s quite obvious that the inspiration for the design comes from Apple’s MacBook lineup. Previous leaks have suggested that it has aluminum chassis, a 3:2 display with thin bezels, stereo speakers, and two USB-C ports.
While Realme didn’t mind providing further details, it did tell where the noteBook would sit in its ever-expanding portfolio of products.
Realme has declared a new “1+5+T” product strategy which is similar to the 1+4+N strategy that it adopted in India last year. The latest strategy has room for the new TechLife brand and the upcoming Realme Book. Here, the company is expecting to build a strong ecosystem of products in the next five years.
Behind smartphones and level with smart TVs, wearables, and speakers, Realme Book will be in the second tier of the Realme ecosystem. Here, it wants to connect all of its devices via the Realme Link app with which users will be able to use the laptop to control other AIoT products. Nevertheless, we doubt if the aspects will be available in the first-gen Realme Book.
