Facebook and Google Have to Pay the Australian Media

Australia is set to amend a bill that would require Google and Facebook to pay for news to the media.

Instead of paying on the basis of clicking on the news article, the facility to pay the media houses at once is being made for the two companies.

Before amending the draft, the Australian government had lengthy discussions with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Alphabet Inc. CEO Sundar Pichai.

The Conservative government is expected to pass a draft news media bargaining code before the parliament convenes on February 25.
