TikTok, a popular video-sharing app, has been accused of abusing user data. The European Consumer Campaign Group (BEUC) filed a complaint with the regulator on Tuesday.
BEUC said Tiktok was unable to protect children and youth from harmful content and advertising, adding that Tiktok’s opaque copyright policy and virtual coins should also be studied.
“With millions of users, Tiktok has become a popular app in Europe over the past few years,” the complaint said. “However, Tiktok is violating users’ rights.”
Therefore, BEUC has lodged a complaint with the European Commission and National Consumer Protection Authorities.
