Redmi Note 9 Pro Overview
Design and Display
Redmi Note 9 Pro flaunts a 6.67-inch Dot display with Full HD+ 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution. The company is claiming it is a cinematic screen because of the 20:9 aspect ratio. For the front camera, there is a circular cut-out located at the top center of the screen.
On the rear, the smartphone has a round-cornered square module that has a quad-camera setup. An LED flash lies just outside the camera module. This time, Redmi has moved the fingerprint sensor from the rear to the side. The capacitive fingerprint sensor is now on the right side. The device has rounded corners in order to avoid damage by accidental drops. The device also has a triple Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection that covers the front, back, and camera sensors on the device. The smartphone is available in three colors –namely Glacier White, Aurora Black, and Interstellar Black.
Chipset
Under the hood, MediaTek’s Helio G90T is present in Redmi Note 8 Pro and many indicated that the Note 9 Pro will be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 800 chipset. However, Redmi comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G in the device. This has made many people confused as many don’t regard it as an upgrade over the G90T. But the company is backing the 720G in order to perform better. It allows users to choose between 4GB and 6GB of RAM. The prior came with 64GB of storage while the latter came with a bigger 128GB storage onboard.
Camera
On the rear side, the smartphone features a quad-camera setup. The primary sensor here is a 48MP sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The ultrawide sensor gives up to 109-degree FOV. It goes together with super stabilization alongside the primary sensor. It is capable of taking macro shots up to 2cm focal distance.
On the front, for selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP selfie camera placed inside a circular cut-out at the top center of the display.
Battery and Connectivity
Redmi Note 9 Pro is fueled with a 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Luckily, the 22.W fast charger also comes in the box. The device also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Type-C port. For security reasons, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the device. The display features a P2i rating to protect it against splashes.
