After a month of its initial launch in India, Realme has eventually brought the Realme 8 into the Nepali market. This smartphone is the successor to last year’s Realme 7. So, let’s have a look at the specs, features, price, and availability of Realme 8 in Nepal.
Realme 8 Overview
Display and Design
Here the display is a 6.4 inches Super AMOLED panel that has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It comes with a refresh rate of 60Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz which we feel will be a little unimpressive to many users as the phones these days come with a refresh rate of at least 90Hz. Sadly, it does not come with a protection glass in the front and back. It has an Always-on-display(AOD) feature enabled by default and Realme has not provided any option to turn it off even if users want to.
Realme 8 Pro is built with polycarbonate: a plastic body at the back, glass at the front, and plastic frame. The phone has a sleek body that weighs 177 grams and is just 7.9mm thick. Like most smartphones, the phone has a rear camera set-up at the top left corner in a perfect square module. The camera module also sports a LED flash placed just below the camera array. It features the “Dare to Leap” slogan on the back On the front side, the device flaunts its selfie shooter left aligned on a circular notch. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Performance and Memory
Powering the phone is the Mediatek Helio G95 (12 nm) chipset which is packed with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. We can see there is no upgrade in the processor and GPU as the predecessor of Realme 8 was shipped with the same processor. Speaking of the software Realme 8 runs on Android 11 that is based on Realme UI 2.0 out-of-the-box.
Moving on to the memory, the user gets three RAM options on this device: 4GB,6GB, and 8GB RAM configuration. However, the internal storage of 128GB remains the same in all the variants. There is a dedicated micro SD card slot using which the phone’s storage can be expanded if needed.
Realme 8 also features the quad-camera array at the back. Unlike the Pro version, the primary camera is a 64MP lens while the remaining cameras stay the same in Realme 8. It has an 8MP ultrawide camera, 2MP macro lens, and last 2MP depth lens. Other rear cameras include an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. Realme has worked well to boost its camera’s performance by adding different features such as Starry Mode, Tilt-Shift Mode, Dynamic Bokeh, Panorama, Super Nightscape, Neon Portrait, and more. Here you can get a 16MP front camera that clicks decent selfies.
For video recording, it supports the Dual-view Video feature that makes video recording really fun and creative. Also, the UIS Max Video Stabilization makes your recording in motion more stabilized. The device support 4k video at 30fps and 1080p video up to 120fps. Likewise, the selfie shooter supports 1080p video up to 120fps.
Battery and Extras
Also, the 5000mAh battery stays the same in Realme 8 as in its predecessor, Realme 7. However, you will get a 30W fast charging that will charge your device 50% in 26 min and 100% in 65 min. It supports a USB Type-C 2.0 port and comes with features such as Power Saving Mode and App Quick Freeze to extend the battery life longer. Realme has provided 2 different color options in this device- Cyber Silver, Cyber Black. Other feature includes dual-band wifi, FM radio, in-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.1, etc.
