Oppo has come up with a new budget phone- the Oppo A16 and it is already available for purchase in Indonesia. It is debuted as the successor to the last year’s Oppo A15. The device comes with Helio G35 (12 nm) SoC and a 5000mAh battery. In this article, we will have a look at the specifications, features, availability, and price in Nepal of the new Oppo A16.
Oppo A16 Overview
Display and Design
Oppo A16 flaunts a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel with 480 nits of brightness. It still comes with an HD+ panel with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. Oppo does not seem to upgrade to an FHD+ panel for their budget phones anytime soon. The handset has a standard 60Hz refresh rate which is what you would expect from a budget phone.
Upfront, the device houses its front camera in a teardrop notch like other budget phones. More on the display side, the panel has a typical contrast ratio of 1500:1 and can cover up to 71% NTSC color gamut. In addition, the bezels on all sides are trimmed boasting an 88.7% screen-to-body ratio.
Around the back, the device sports a metallic finish that is captivated to the eyes. It has a typical rectangular camera module on the top left corner. It has 8.4mm thickness and weighs around 190 grams. Users can choose from 3 different color options: Pearl Blue, Space Silver, and Crystal Black.
Performance and Memory
In terms of processor, there is a MediaTek Helio G53 chipset based on the 12nm technology. The SoC comes with eight Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.3Ghz for seamless multitasking and gaming. Graphics rendering is handled by PowerVR GE9320 GPU.
In terms of memory, the handset is available in the single 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage configuration. In the software department, it runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 on the top.
Oppo A16 features a triple camera array at the back which includes a 13MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 accompanied by a pair of 2MP macro and depth sensors with an aperture of f/2.4 each. At the front, there is an 8MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and making video calls. Both the rear and front cameras can record a 1080p video at 30fps.
Battery and extras
Oppo A16 houses a huge 5000mAh battery that offers a decent battery life. It charges via a USB Type-C port. For security, there is a side-mounted fingerprint reader integrated into the power button. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, A-GPS, etc.
Oppo A16 Price in Nepal and Availability
