Budget-friendly smartphones have always been hot picks in the Nepalese market. Nokia has been working on it to provide decent phones at the lowest price. The competition is tough as Nokia is competing with different other brands that offer smartphones in this price range too. So by launching Nokia 1.4, it is trying to capture this segment of the market and it is going to be a tough competition for them.
Nokia 1.4 Overview
Display and Design
Nokia 1.4 comes with a big screen of 6.51 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The phone has an HD+ panel display with an impressive aspect ratio of 20:9. Sadly, it does not contain any protection in the front or the back of the phone. When you see the back of the phone, the design somehow resembles the OnePlus 7T, both having circular camera design. Just like other smartphones, it also has a physical fingerprint sensor just below the camera. It has a small carve at the front where it sports its selfie camera.
Performance and Memory
Talking about the processor, the phone is powered by Snapdragon 215 chipset and is based on Android 10 but eventually, you will be able to upgrade it to Android 11. The chipset used in the phone is less powerful and might fall short in performance as compared to other phones in the same price range.
Speaking of memory, the base variant has 1GB RAM with 16GB of internal memory. There are also other variants as well, with 2GB RAM 32GB storage, 3GB RAM 64GB storage. Unfortunately, at this time, these other variants are not available here in Nepal.
Camera
Talking about Nokia 1.4 camera, the phone has a dual-camera set-up at the back with 8MP primary camera accompanied by a 2MP macro sensor. And keep note that the phone comes with the Camera Go app that supports different Google’s AI features including portrait mode and night mode. The app is powered by Google, and everyone knows how optimized the photo Google software can take. For selfies, the phone supports a 5MP front camera.
Battery and Extras
This phone is fueled by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery. The company claims that the battery will keep going and will last for 2 days. It supports micro USB but not Type-C which may be a major disadvantage because data transfer is comparatively slow on MicroUSB.Nokia 4.1 is available in 3 different colors- Fjord, Charcoal, and Dusk. It also supports FM radio which is a rare feature available in the latest smartphones.
