For those who want all or nothing, Razer Blade 14 is here for you—the ultimate AMD gaming laptop in every way conceivable. From its most powerful CPU to its graphics, its portability, to its fast display. Razer Blade 14 maxed out all aspects to bring a rigid experience that can’t be beaten.
Finally listening to its user, Razer has not only brought back the 14-inch Blade machine, but it comes with an AMD chip inside of it. With this, Razer is the modern brand to embrace AMD’s mobile gaming CPUs. Let’s have a look at the key specs, features, availability, and expected price of the Razer Blade 14.
Taking the crown off the Blade 15, The Blade 14 is Razer’s smallest and thinnest gaming laptop in Today’s market. It is more than 30% smaller in volume than average 15” gaming laptops, which gives a level of portability that’s important to all movers. The laptop is fashioned from CNC aluminum, with Razer opting for a platinized finish. It is quite sturdy, though also a fingerprint magnet. This laptop is just 16.8mm thin and weighs around 1.78kg.
As for the display, you can find two options. The base variant features a 144Hz FHD, 1920 x 1080 panel with 100% sRGB and on the other hand, the higher-end models offer a 165Hz QHD,2560 x 1440 panel with 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Every display is distinctively calibrated for quality and true color accuracy. It has a common aspect ratio 16:9 panel, which we can see on gaming laptops. But it does leave less vertical space for work and productivity than a 3:2 or 16:10 display.
Its cutting-edge thermal materials along with the vapor chamber cooling system restfully and efficiently vanish heat through the evaporation and condensation of an internal fluid—a design that has also served the Razer Blade 14 to accomplish its thin profile.
We can see there are tons of thin-and-light gaming laptops, but none have been as powerful as the new Razer Blade 14. For the initiators, this laptop packs the most recent Ryzen 5900HX. Ryzen 5900HX can attain a clock speed of up to 4.6GHz Max Boost frequency, equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads. The chip is a step up from the H-branded or the HS chips that we often see in laptops of this form factor.
Razer hasn’t touched lightly on the graphics either. Here, it comes with the top-of-the-line RTX 3080 to go with the 5900HX chip. They also have variants with RTX 3060 and RTX 3070. As for cooling, the company has included a dual-fan liquid-vapor chamber. Each fan consists of a total of 88 fan blades.
If you’ve never used a Razer laptop before, their signature characteristics (apart from the gaming performance) is the RGB keyboard. The keyboard has Razer Chroma’s Per-Key RGB and has per-key RGB lighting that you can customize in the Razer Synapse software that comes pre-installed. While many colorful gaming keyboards look unpleasant and garish, Blade keyboards are subtle and chic, because there’s almost no backlight bleed from beneath the keys and the fonts are understandable, not aggressive. The color is brandish, rather than a distraction. The keys on the keyboard have a 1.1m actuation height.
Similarly, We can find a Precision trackpad. The touchpad is also pretty good, with a smooth texture, and does not have palm rejection issues. It has an IR HD-webcam at the top bezel with Windows Hello authentication.
With the battery compartment, the laptop is juiced by a 61.6WHr lithium-ion polymer battery. 230W power adapter is included in the box. Furthermore, the laptop supports any 20W PD 3.0 USB-C charger.
Battery life is acceptable but not as tremendous as we’ve seen from some recent AMD systems. On average six hours and 12 minutes of continuous work with the screen around 200 nits of brightness. It is still not uncommon to see gaming laptops die after just a few hours on battery, we can also find a number of AMD rigs also breaking the eight-hour mark these days.
The Razer Blade 14 comes with ports to support a huge range of devices and includes other must-haves for top-tier functionality. It features 2x USB-C ports with Power Delivery, 2x USB-A ports, a Windows IR Camera, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and TPM 2.0 Security.
On either side of the keyboard, there are built-in stereo speakers with an array microphone. The laptop has a 7.1-surround sound using the HDMI port.
If it launches here, the price of Razer Blade 14 is expected to start from NPR 325,000. For the base variant (144Hz, RTX 3060), the price of the Razer Blade 14 starts at €1,999.99. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line Razer Blade 14 costs €2,999.99. Every configuration comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of NVMe SSD storage.
