Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (2021) Price in Nepal

A few months back in CES 2021 Asus launched their new ROG Strix Scar 15 2021 edition globally and now it is launched in Nepal as well with the RTX 3080 graphics.

Design and Display

Firstly, the design of the ROG Strix Scar 15 2021 is completely new and the body is made of aluminum alloy. It has a line going across the back panel. One-Third of the laptop back has a dot matrix design whereas the other space is clean black with the RGB ROG logo on the right. Similarly, they have added an Aura Sync RGB light bar around the front of the chassis and under the display as well. Also, you will get the customizable ‘Armor Cap’. Not only that, there is a dedicated NFC-enabled key that fits right into the chassis, and they call it a Keystone that protects your personal data and has a personalization to it.

For the display, it has a 15.6-inch IPS screen with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440. Also, it has a higher 300Hz refresh rate paired with a 3ms response time for smooth and lag-free gaming. It weighs only 2.3kg and is 27.2mm thick which is bulkier than the recently launched Zephyrus Duo 15 SE in Nepal which was only 20.7mm thick. 

For the keyboard, you will be getting Optical Mechanical Keyboard that uses infrared lasers for faster response with a per-key RGB Backlight. The touchpad is in the default bottom position that can also be changed to a number pad by pressing a dedicated button. Sadly, the webcam is not available on the laptop that you have to get separately.

Performance and Memory

For that best performance, Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (2021) uses Ryzen 5000 mobile processor and RTX 30 mobile GPUs. It has AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor with a 4.6GHz clock speed paired with the latest and the greatest graphics card from NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 3080 with 16GB DDR6 VRAM in it. The laptop also includes ROG Boost software from where you can boost your GPU up to 1645MHz at 115W for more performance. Furthermore, the laptop supports up to 64GB RAM but comes with a total of 16GB DDR4 RAM with 3200MHz pre-installed. With the battery compartment, the Strix Scar 15 laptop is juiced by a Lithium-Ion 4-Cell 90Whr battery with 240W Type-C fast charging similar to the Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. It gives you up to 12 hours of video playback from a single full charge. In terms of connectivity, the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE is certified with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

For the audio, it consists of two 4W speakers with Smart Amp, two 2W tweeters, and the built-in array microphone. The laptop contains one 3.5mm Combo audio jack, one HDMI 2.0 port, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C support, and one display/power delivery port.
