Apple’s “Unleashed” event in October came to a close with the announcement of a few new items, including the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. They’re also available for pre-booking in Nepal. In this article, we’ll look at the new Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch’s specifications, features, official pricing, and availability in Nepal.
It’s worth noting that this is the first time Apple has released a 14-inch MacBook Pro. It’s 15.5mm thick and 3.5 pounds in weight. Apple claims that the chassis is made entirely of recyclable aluminum.
In this MacBook pro, a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is included. It can reach a maximum brightness of 1600 nits thanks to mini-LED backlights. The total number of pixels on this 14.2-inch screen is 5.9 million, which is higher than the previous-generation 16-inch MacBook Pro. A little bathtub-shaped notch at the front contributes to the smaller bezels all around.
The Touch Bar on the 13-inch MacBook Pro has been replaced with a physical Function key and a wider Escape key. Furthermore, This display also has 120Hz ProMotion, which adjusts the refresh rate dynamically based on the content on the screen.
You can select between the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in terms of performance. These are Apple’s second-generation in-house chips for its MacBook series. In comparison to last year’s M1 processor, the M1 Pro has twice as many transistors. It also has a speedier CPU with 8–10 cores and a GPU with 14–16 cores.
It also has a memory bandwidth of up to 200GB/s and a maximum of 32GB of unified memory. The CPU and GPU performance has also been enhanced by 70% and 100%, respectively, over the M1. The M1 Max, on the other side, doubles those figures to 64GB and 400GB/s, respectively.
Along with a 10-core CPU, it has a GPU with up to 24 – 32 cores and up to 4096 execution units. Up to two active fans are included with the new 14/16-inch MacBook Pro. They have a 50% greater airflow with the improved design, even at reduced fan speeds.
Moving on, Apple has created a new version of macOS that takes advantage of the new processors. Live Text, FaceTime, AirPlay, and Visual Lookup are just a few of the new features in macOS Monterey. Similarly, all Mac apps work natively on MacBooks powered by the M1 Pro/Max.
This time, the webcam also shows some improvement. Apple has increased the resolution to 1080p and used a better sensor with a wider aperture. It can play Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio content.
When it comes to the battery, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro can last up to 17 hours. Fast charging is also supported, which is a first for the lineup. According to Apple, the new MacBook Pro can be charged up to 50% in just 30 minutes. On these MacBooks, Apple has also reintroduced the MagSafe charger.
Three Thunderbolt 4/USB-C connections, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and a 3.5mm jack round out the connectors. High-impedance headphones are also supported by the latter.
The Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch is finally available for pre-order in Nepal, where the base model with M1 Pro, 8-core CPU, and 14-core GPU costs NPR 305,000. Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch can be pre-ordered via Genxt Nepal-authorized e-commerce platforms like Hukut.
